Kids Activities

Neptune Park- Cool off at Neptune Park, where they have enclosed play structures for climbing and sliding, swings, and see-saws. Right next door there is also a miniature-golf course and a fun zone pool with swimming lanes, and splash park for the whole family to enjoy. 

Lighthouse Trolley Tours-Stops along the ride include Christ Church & the cemetery, Fort Frederica where you'll learn some interesting history about the Battle of Bloody Marsh, a former plantation with slave cabins, and the St. Simon's Island Lighthouse. 

Sea Turtle Center-The Georgia Sea Turtle Center is a rehabilitation center for ill and injured sea turtles and terrapins that have been rescued. The Georgia Sea Turtle Center gives children an up close look at endangered sea turtles and gives them the opportunity to participate in the journey of a sea turtle from an egg all the way to adulthood. You'll also get to explore exhibits on conservation.

Shrimp Boat & Dolphin Tours-Take a ride on the Lady Jane and enjoy fresh caught shrimp or enjoy a relaxing boat ride with the family and spot dolphins in their natural habitat.

St. Simons Island Light House-Climb all 129 cast-iron steps to the top of the St. Simon's Island Lighthouse and peer out of the windows on each of the five landings. Learn about the lighthouses' early residents and explore the museum.

Summer Activities

The Golden Isles offers a variety of educational and enjoyable activities for kids of all ages to participate in during the summer season. From day camps to overnight camps, kids can experience fun, specialized training in activities such as sports, performing and visual arts, nature and more! Coastal Outdoor Adventure Camp

Coastal Outdoor Adventures provides high quality outdoor education and adventure programs for kids through hands-on learning experiences. With strong backgrounds in coastal ecology and boating, our staff provides opportunities to learn about and safely enjoy the outdoor lifestyle. 

Jekyll Island Golf Camp

Camp sessions are grouped by skill level and feature daily instruction from Jekyll Island Golf Club Professional staff paired with fun skills challenges or on-course play based on each day's topic. Concepts covered include putting, chipping, pitching, full swing, etiquette, and rules. All Golf Camps include 20 hours of instruction, a visit to Summer Waves Water Park during camp, daily lunch offered by Larry's Giant Subs, one reusable water bottle, one official camp shirt, and a commemorative pin.

Golden Isles Gymnastics Camp

A fun filled day of gymnastics, games, crafts, fort building, and even a movie! Weekly, daily, and half-day options available. Campers will be divided into appropriate age groups and no gymnastics or athletic experience is necessary. Weekdays 7:30am-5pm! 

Camp Jekyll 4-H Camp

Each week long camp offers adventure, friendship, and fun for rising 7th and 8th graders. Georgia’s 4-H at Camp Jekyll open their doors to campers looking for an exciting summer experience. Enthusiastic and well-trained camp counselors, University of Georgia Extension employees, and certified volunteers work together to provide campers with unforgettable memories to last a lifetime! Activities include: Summer Waves Water Park, Dolphin boat tour, Georgia Sea Turtle Center, and bike rides. 

Stables at Frederica Kids Camp

The Stables at Frederica hosts several weeks of half-day camps during the summer months. Campers are inspired and challenged during their session through riding lessons, art projects, and ground and stable lessons. Students learn about how to care for and ride horses, as well as how to appreciate the beauty and strength of horses. Each week will be Monday – Thursday from 1pm-4pm.
