The Historic Ritz Theatre, in nearby Brunswick, is located in a former 19th century opera house; today it operates as a full time arts and culture stop in old town Brunswick. Offering everything from music shows to book talks, even wine tasting and old movies, this historical educational hotspot is proof that new isn’t always better! The Ritz Theatre offers performances, cultural events and educational exhibits to the public. It is the host venue to a number of musical performances, classic movies  and art exhibits throughout the season, tickets for which can be purchased online or at the Ritz Theatre box office. Box office, gallery, and historic Ritz Theatre hours are 9:00am to 5:00pm on Wednesday through Friday, 10:00am until 2:00pm on Saturdays, and by appointment and event times accordingly. Ticket prices will vary depending on the event or performance that you choose.

The Gallery On Newcastle

This unique 1888 building was purchased and historically restored by artist Janet Powers and her husband Paul Stanton in 1999. The building was the first Edo Miller funeral home, evolving from a place of mourning to a gallery for the celebration of fine art. It boasts of old world charm at every inch of the space.Located in historic downtown Brunswick the Gallery on Newcastle showcases Janet's work, which includes lush oil landscapes of the local salt marsh, as well as 18 other well-known artists from the Southeastern U.S. To compliment the art are artifacts and antiques from China, Indonesia, and Mexico.

 

 

SoGlo Gallery Brunswick Actors' Theatre

We are a production company that showcases local and regional artists, writers, and actors in a variety of  venues. We operate a 2600 square foot art galleryand 111 seat theatre, coordinate 6 outdoor art festivals annually, and curate rotating exhibitions for Southeast Georgia Health System  Brunswick Campus, HORTON Gallery. We also provide tour services for Brunswick and the Golden Isles. The Brunswick Actors' Theatre is a 111 seat theatre that is home to six main stage productions a year. The 2018 season begins in February and ends in December.  Performances are on Saturday nights at 8 pm and on Sunday afternoons at 3 pm.

Glynn Visual Arts Center

Sporting the logo “imagine, inspire create,” the Glynn Visual Arts Center does just that. Originally opened in 1953 under the name Glynn Art Association, this non-profit organization is dedicated to making art accessible to everyone, by teaching and selling at its gallery and 2 gift shops. Offering classes for adults and kids, you can study everything from comic book art to photography; the Glynn Visual Arts Center makes the world (and especially St. Simons Island) a better place, just by its very existence.

 

 

Wallin Gallery

The Wallin Gallery, formerly known as the Left Bank Art Gallery, specializes in the art of Southern painters, including its founders, Mildred Nix Huie, Stella Morton, Selma Shelander, and Marja Albright. Today you will find paintings by Tori Anderson (her beach scenes might be a perfect souvenir to take home as a reminder of your vacation), etchings of beach birds by Roland Clark, or even some beautiful oil paintings of local scenery by Katherine Brown Galbraith.

Anderson Fine Art Gallery's second location is the Anderson Contemporary Gallery and the Artists Annex Gallery and offers contemporary abstract paintings: workshops, demonstrations, lectures and studio space on a year round basis. The Anderson Contemporary Gallery features the abstract paintings by Larry Moore and Clara Blalock.  It is the perfect solution for visiting or local artists who find themselves in need of a place to paint away from the home or while traveling to the Golden Isles.
