In 2009, at a time when it was very difficult to sell real estate, Mike started a company to capitalize on the depressed real estate market. Mike saw a niche market for an agent who understood REOs and bank foreclosures. From this niche, he has become one of the most successful agents on St. Simons and Sea Island, Georgia, and has consistently been in the top 5 percent of real estate agents in the Golden Isles for the past several years.
As the market has shifted, Mike has used his marketing and negotiating talents to not only bring his buyers to great deals but also to successfully market his sellers homes earning, in many cases, record price per square foot sales.
Mike also had the added benefit of having a mother, Judy Gordon, who was one of the top real estate professionals on Saint Simons and Sea Island, Georgia, for over 34 years. As a result, he has great conections and knowledge of the area.
From the age of 12, Mike grew up on Sea Island, Georgia, and attended Frederica Academy. While pursuing school, travel and various business endeavors in Boston, New York and abroad, he always had a side real estate project. After about two decades away from the Golden Isles, he decided to move home and pursue real estate development full time and eventually started a real estate sales company.
As an aside, Mike comes from a golfing family… his step-father was the secretary of the USGA and his mom was a 2 handicap. Mike’s passion is more for racing sailboats and windsurfing, when its white-capping, although he does like to play golf.
Today, Mike makes his home on St. Simons Island with his wife and business partner, Jennifer.
Jennifer and Mike focus on working with serious buyers and sellers. They concentrate on negotiating deals and marketing properties as they work together in Banker Real Estate.
